When Sita Devi lost her husband in 2023, eleven-year-old Anjali's education seemed doomed. Her mother worked as a domestic helper and could barely afford two meals a day, let alone school fees and books.

Aksharayush Foundation's Education Support program identified Anjali through a community referral in Patna. We enrolled her in a partner school, covered all academic expenses, and provided uniforms, books, and a nutrition stipend for the family.
Eighteen months later, Anjali scored 92% in her Class 5 examinations — the highest in her class. She now wants to become a doctor. "I want to help mothers like mine," she says with a smile that could light up a room.
