Meera Bai, 14, dropped out of school after Class 7 to support her family of five. Her father, a daily-wage laborer in Jaipur, was unable to work after a fall. Meera wanted to work but had no skills.

Our Skill Training program offered Meera a three-month residential course in tailoring and garment design. We covered her training, accommodation, and provided a starter sewing machine upon completion.
Today, Meera takes tailoring orders from her neighborhood and earns ₹6,000–8,000 a month. She has re-enrolled in school through our open-learning program and is now in Class 9. "I am earning and studying," she beams. "My mother no longer worries."
